SCOOTER DO's & DONT's

  • You are Personally Responsible for any Damage to the Scooters Caused During Your Ride.  You will be Charged for the Repair or Replacement of the Scooter ($2,000 Replacement Cost).
     

  • Do Not Ride Scooters on the Street – Stay on the Sidewalks – The City Marshal in Galveston Has Determined it is Against the Law to Ride Scooters on the Street and Will Write You a $300 Ticket if he Catches You Riding On the Street.  If you are Caught on the Street, You Will Forfeit Your Ride Immediately.
     

  • Do Not Ride Scooters on the Beach – This is Against the Law in Galveston & You Will Be Charged a $100 Cleaning Fee (sand causes significant damage to the electric motors).  If you are Caught on the Beach You Will Forfeit Your Ride Immediately.
     

  • Cross the Street ONLY AT CROSSWALKS, DO NOT CROSS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET – YOU PUT YOUR LIFE IN DANGER IF YOU DO THIS!
     

  • NO ONE UNDER 18 IS ALLOWED ON A SCOOTER FOR ANY REASON!!  If You Are Caught with Someone Under 18 on the Scooter, You Will Forfeit Your Ride Immediately.
     

  • Due to Insurance Restrictions, you are Limited to 1 Person Per Scooter, NO RIDERS Allowed & if You are Caught with a Rider, You Will Forfeit Your Ride Immediately.
     

  • Pedestrians on Seawall Sidewalks Have the Right of Way. Blowing your Horn DOES NOT Mean They Have to Move for You.
     

  • Only the Person That Rented the Scooter & Provided Their ID (Driver’s License) May Ride on The Scooters.  No Friends, Family or Other People May Ride on the Scooter.  If you are Caught with Someone Other Than the Renter on the Scooter, You Will Forfeit Your Ride.
     

  • Scooters are Powerful and have the Potential of Doing Physical Damage to Others, to Property & to Yourself.  By Renting a Scooter, You Acknowledge You Are Aware of This and Accept Full Responsibility for Physical Damage to Others, to Property & to Yourself While You Are Riding the Scooter.
     

  • The Scooters Run on an Electric Battery, While we do our Best to Insure you have a Sufficient Charge for Your Ride, Ultimately You Are Responsible for Monitoring the Battery Level and Returning the Scooter to the Shop before the Battery Runs Dead.
     

  • We Provide Helmets and Other Protective Equipment for Your Protection.  We Encourage You to Wear a Helmet and we will Provide One at No Additional Cost to You.  It is Your Choice Whether You Wear a Helmet and Other Protective Equipment, but You Acknowledge That You Were Offered Protective Equipment and by CHOOSING NOT TO WEAR IT, YOU ACCEPT THE RISKS OF SERIOUS BODILY HARM and Hereby Release Salt Water Gift Shop LLC from Any and All Liability Resulting from Personal Injury.
     

  • Scooters are Mechanical Devices and as such are Subject to Occasional Mechanical Breakdown.  Salt Water Shop LLC does our Best to Maintain our Equipment in Peak Operating Condition, but Please be Aware, Mechanical Breakdowns do Happen.  We will Endeavor to Minimize the Impact of any Mechanical Breakdown to you, but Please Understand, Just Like your Car, These Scooters do Occasionally Breakdown.
